The Key Centre for Children and the Community offers a range of activities to support pre-school children and their families to ensure children meet the 5 outcomes identified in Every Child Matters namely: Be Healthy, Stay Safe, Enjoy and Achieve, Make a Positive and Economic Well-Being.
The Key Centre is accountable to the Department of Education and Skills. As well as offering the above activities The Key Centre also operates as a Healthy Living Centre. Centres such as ours have been developed nationwide to promote the health and well-being of communities. Here, we offer support with emotional health and wellbeing, diet and nutrition, physical activity and smoking cessation working closely with the local community and local services.
Groups currently running from the Key Centre include Music and Movement, Toy Library, Health Visitors Clinic, Speech and Language, Youth Groups, Yoga and Meditation.
Our programme of activities changes frequently so to keep up to date, please call us or drop in and find out what we have to offer you.
The Key Centre can also be hired for conferences and training sessions or for birthday parties and other private functions. For details of hire charges and booking procedure please contact us. |

Coleford and Area Children’s Centre
Coleford Children’s Centre is based at Bishop Henderson Primary School; the building will open in April 2008. Outreach to the villages and hamlets in the area will be from a van. We are already providing some support and groups for families and their children under 5 years old through the School and are consulting with parents and the Communities about what they would like to see happening in the future. NCH will be working with us from this Children’s Centre.

| The Bridge Children’s Centre, Frome
The Bridge Children’s Centre will be offering groups and support for families on the north side of Frome. The main building will be at Hayesdown School and will be opening in 2009, there will also be a base at Vallis School, which will be opening early 2008. There will also be groups run from other sites on the North side of Frome. NCH and the Toy Library will be working with us from this Children’s Centre starting at the beginning of 2008.
